Precision machining is a process of using machining machinery to change the external dimensions or performance of a workpiece. According to the temperature state of the workpiece being processed, it can be divided into cold machining and hot machining during use. Cold processing is generally carried out at room temperature without causing any chemical or phase changes to the workpiece.

Precision machining is generally performed at temperatures above or below room temperature, which can directly cause chemical or phase changes in the workpiece, known as thermal processing. Cold processing can be divided into cutting and pressure processing according to the difference in processing methods. Hot working commonly includes heat treatment, forging, casting, and welding. Firstly, there is a requirement for the hardness of the material. In some cases, the higher the hardness of the material, the better. However, it is limited to the hardness requirements of the machined parts. The processed material cannot be too hard. If it is even harder than the machined parts, it cannot be processed.

The operation steps of precision machining

1. Polishing processing: This processing principle is generally some polishing and polishing processing, which is usually carried out after the entire product structure is completed.

2. Face first, then hole: When working on precision mechanical parts, for workpieces such as brackets, they need to be machined with both flat and mechanical holes. In order to reduce the accuracy error of the processed holes, machining the flat surface first and then the hole is beneficial to reduce the error.

3. Division of processing stages: When the product is used in precision mechanical parts, different degrees of processing are required according to different product requirements, and the processing degree needs to be divided. If the accuracy requirements are not high, then a simple rough processing stage is sufficient. The progress requirements of the product are becoming increasingly strict, and the subsequent stages of semi precision processing and precision processing will need to be carried out.

4. Datum first: When using mechanical equipment to process products, a reference plane should be determined so that there can be a positioning reference in subsequent processing. After determining the reference plane, the reference plane should be processed first. In precision mechanical parts, there are many workpieces that are not produced in one go, but when they are produced, they are just a rough model.
